Our book collection these days is quite extensive. My son loves to read or be read to and has since he was very young. I remember so vividly watching him sit up and “read” those tiny little books that fit perfectly into his tiny little hands. He was just under a year in these pictures…

I thought I would share some of our favorite winter themed books. While we read to our kids everyday, it’s something about the cold winter air that makes you want to curl up on the couch and read a book with your kids. It’s been part of Jack’s bedtime routine since he was about 6 months old. We actually have to limit the amount of books before bed, or he would just keep being read to! Since it is close to the holidays, it’s a nice time of year to enjoy some quality time and read books that make you feel warm, cozy, loved, and full of hope. And always sprinkle in some laughter!

Books we currently have and love…

The Snowy Day by Ezra Keats, board book & hardcover

The Mitten by Jan Brett, board book & hardcover

How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss, hardcover

Bear Stays Up for Christmas by Karma Wilson, board book & hardcover

Little Blue Truck Christmas by Alice Shertle, board book & hardcover

The Reindeer Wish by Lori Evert, hardcover

The Carpenter’s Gift: A Christmas Tale about the Rockefeller Center Tree by David Rubel, hardcover

Oskar and the Eight Blessings by Tanya Simon, hardcover: book about seventh day of Hanukkah and Christmas Eve (it has a great message)

Twelve Hidden Days of Christmas by Macky Pamintuan, hardcover: fun find it book!

Santa is Coming to Virginia by Steve Smallman, hardcover (currently out of stock, but you can personalize to your own state!)

I will finish with the classic….

The Night Before Christmas by Clement C. Moore, hardcover

We have the most beautiful soft fabric version of this book. I could not find it online, until I looked on Ebay. I did not know this, but I’m pretty sure our Aunt actually sews these books together as gifts for our children. So thoughtful! Here you will find the fabric to make the book! She gave June the Little Light this year for her first Christmas. Here is the fabric, and I found one already made here!

This is the beautiful fabric Night Before Christmas book!

And I know there are so many more Christmas and Winter books, but you can’t buy them all at once! We usually get one or two new ones every year….

Tell me your favorite Christmas or winter themed book in the comment section!
